CEREC® Dentistry

CEREC is a high-tech instrument that helps dentists restore damaged teeth. CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. For more information on CEREC, see our Technology Page.

Dental Cleanings

You should visit your dentist at least every six months or more frequently to get your teeth cleaned. By seeing your dentist twice a year, your dentist can monitor your oral health and help you prevent any problems that may arise before they become uncomfortable or require more comprehensive or expensive treatment. The dentist may suggest more frequent visits, depending on the diagnosis.

Fluoride Application

Fluoride helps harden the tooth enamel and make it more resistant to tooth decay. A small cavity can be stopped and even reversed by the remineralization process enhanced by fluoride.

Bonding

Dental bonding is a procedure in which a tooth-colored resin material (a durable plastic material) is applied and hardened with a special light, which ultimately "bonds" the material to the tooth to restore or improve person's smile.

Dentures

Dentures replace missing teeth and their adjacent tissues with a removable dental appliance made of acrylic resin and, in some cases, a combination of metals.

Fillings

The goal of treating cavities involves two basic principals: removing the decayed portion of the tooth, and rebuilding the missing tooth structure with a filling material.

Sealants

Dental sealants act as a barrier, protecting the teeth against decay-causing bacteria. The sealants are usually applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth (premolars and molars) where decay occurs most often.

X-Rays

When X-rays pass through your mouth during a dental exam, more X-rays are absorbed by the denser parts (such as teeth and bone) than by soft tissues (such as cheeks and gums) before striking the film. This creates an image on the radiograph. Teeth appear lighter because fewer X-rays penetrate to reach the film. Tooth decay, infections and signs of gum disease, including changes in the bone and ligaments holding teeth in place, appear darker because of more X-ray penetration. Dental restorations (fillings, crowns) may appear lighter or darker, depending on the type of material used for the restoration. The interpretation of these X-rays allows the dentist to safely and accurately detect hidden abnormalities.

Periodontal Scaling & Root Planing

The first non-surgical step for treating periodontal (gum) disease usually involves a special cleaning, called "scaling and root planing," to remove plaque and tartar deposits on the tooth and root surfaces. This procedure helps gum tissue to heal and periodontal pockets to shrink. This is sometimes called "periodontal cleaning" or "deep cleaning."

Bridges (Dental Partials)

A dental bridge (or pontic) is a custom-made false tooth or teeth, that is permanently placed between two healthy teeth, filling in the area left by a missing tooth or teeth. Bridges address the problem of shifting of the remaining teeth when one or more teeth are lossed.

Root Canal (Endodontic Treatment)

Once upon a time, if you had a tooth with a diseased nerve, you'd probably lose that tooth. Today, with a special dental procedure called a root canal therapy you may save that tooth. Inside each tooth is the pulp which provides nutrients and nerves to the tooth, it runs like a thread down through the root. When the pulp is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue dies. If you don't remove it, your tooth gets infected and you could lose it. After the dentist removes the pulp, the root canal is cleaned and sealed off to protect it. Then your dentist places a crown over the tooth to help make it stronger.

Most of the time, a root canal is a relatively simple procedure with little or no discomfort involving one to three visits. Best of all, it can save your tooth and your smile!

Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom teeth are a valuable asset to the mouth when they are healthy and properly positioned. Often, however, problems develop that require their removal. When the jaw isn't large enough to accommodate wisdom teeth, they can become impacted (unable to come in or misaligned). Wisdom teeth may grow sideways, emerge only part way from the gum or remain trapped beneath the gum and bone.

Preventive Care

The aim of preventive dental care is to avoid future decay and gum disease. Periodontal (gum) disease is one of the most prevalent dental problems in adults. Early diagnosis and treatment are essential to maintaining a healthy mouth

Porcelain Crowns

Porcelain crowns are caps to strengthen teeth that have been weakened, heavily filled, or darkened because of root canal. Our CEREC® technology allows us to transform your teeth in as little as one appointment.

Whitening

Use of Over-the-counter products may damage your teeth. Try our proven, professional whitening system that gives dazzling results in as little as one hour!

Implantology

With the advent of modern dentistry, we are able to replace damaged teeth using dental implants. These implants are so good, you'll be hard to tell these prosthetic teeth (attached to permanently imbedded anchors) apart from your natural teeth.

Invisalign

Invisalign represents breakthrough technology that lets you get the smile you always wanted without bands, brackets or wires. By using a series of clear removable aligners, Invisalign straightens your teeth right before your eyes. Change them about every 2 weeks, your teeth will move—little by little, week by week—until they have moved to the final position your orthodontist or dentist has prescribed.

Periodontal

Periodontal plans involve the treatment of gum disease. Gum disease is the number one cause of tooth loss in adults.

Veneers

Veneers are thin porcelain shells that are bonded to your teeth to correct stains, gaps, chips and other imperfections. Veneers can brighten your smile in ways you never dreamed.
